Netizens Media

We are an indie web production company, founded and run by Lim Cheng Soon, based in Penang, Malaysia. Here's a list of what we've done in the past couple of years.

Hacker Monthlyhttp://hackermonthly.com

Our venture into the publishing industry - the print magazine of Hacker News.

EStore.myhttp://estore.my

We started this so every Malaysian could start selling online for free. The project was later sold to a local entrepreneur in June 2010.

Wapprhttp://wappr.com

Our first project written from scratch using Ruby on Rails. Wappr collects app wishes off Twitter, makes them votable, and then creates a popularity list from it. See how we built it.

Premium Modhttp://premiummod.com

Our most controversial project to date. Premium Mod modifies commercial GPL WordPress themes and releases them to public for free. We sold the site on May 2010.

ShoppingThemeshttp://shoppingthemes.com

We are the first in the market to designed and sold WordPress e-commerce themes. We grew ShoppingThemes to steady revenues before selling it to Templatic in October 2009.

WPWebHosthttp://wpwebhost.com

We started the WPWebHost as the first ever WordPress niche hosting service provider in 2007, and sold to Exabytes in June 2008. We continued our involvement to grow it to thousands of users until August 2009.

WeRockWPhttp://werockwp.com

A WordPress Rockstar showcase, featuring many of the prominent contributors to the WordPress community. The project was sold in March 2010.

XS.myhttp://xs.my

Malaysia's very own URL-shortening service. Quick as lightning. No ads, no images and nobody uses it, except us.
